Senior Pastor
Kevin McMachen

My family and I have been blessed with the appointment to Caldwell Methodist Church.  I am originally from Las Vegas, NV, where I lived until I was 19.  I moved to Porter, TX and have lived in Texas ever since.  I am married to my lovely wife Dawn, and we have three children.  Our oldest is Lauren, who was married in 2019 to her husband Kyonn.  Savanna is our middle child, and our son Evan.

My family and I joined Atascocita Methodist Church in 2004.  Very quickly we became active in many ministries including youth, children’s, Methodist Men, Emmaus, and others.  I myself joined their praise team named Connexion and served for 15 years as a musician and worship leader.

After completing my undergraduate education in 2019 at Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, I was appointed as a Local Licensed Pastor at Highlands Methodist Church.  My undergraduate education included a degree in management with a minor in marketing along with certifications in entrepreneurship and digital marketing.

Shortly after my appointment to Highlands I began my seminary education at Perkins School of Theology at SMU.  In May of 2022 I completed a master of divinity and was commissioned as an elder.

Along with my education and experience as a pastor, I am passionate about music, connectional ministries, youth, children, my family and above all our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I am truly honored to serve as your pastor.  I pray that we will grow together in our mission to make disciples for Jesus Christ.

Jan Maddocks:
What a blessing to join Caldwell FUMC staff as Children’s Ministry Director!  I hail from Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Bryan, Texas in 1985.  My children learned to polka at the Kolache Festival and now my grands enjoy at day in Caldwell each September, too.  I have two g   rown daughters that live in Austin, TX, and two incredibly perfect grands, Mia (age 6) and Jacob (age 3).
I have served children for many years through Big Brothers/Big Sister, Brazos Valley CASA, and Children’s Ministry at Aldersgate UMC in College Station.
I am excited to join with the families, staff and congregation of Caldwell FUMC to help children grown in their faith, by teaching that Jesus loves them and wants to be their best friend.
I am #8 of 10 kids and enjoy long telephone catch ups with my family, reading, travel, and college football (Go Buckeyes!)!

Music Administrator/Organist
Phillip Staggs
I have had the honor of playing the organ and directing the choir here at Caldwell FUMC for the last two and a half years and I love our congregation and the music we sing.  I am currently studying Business Administration at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, via the RELLIS Campus. Whoop!

I have been around music all my life, starting violin lessons at the age of five and piano at age six. My parents wished all their children to be well versed in classical music and play an instrument. I am number three of four children and my family has always played an important part in the music of the churches we have attended.

I started playing the organ in 2014 and fell in love with it, as I knew would, because it was a dream come true!  I have had the honor of studying with Christina Harmon for 8 years. I travelled to Europe with Ms. Harmon and the French Organ Music Seminar to learn the history of the pipe organ in both classical and liturgical forms.  I love spending time with my family and friends, travel, and sharing my love of music and praise.
